Apcolyptic Country Music Meta-Modern Meltdown

Holy Haysoos chewin' on a corn cob, this feller Sturgill Simpson was on Joe Rogan's podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience #780. Joe's accolades and hearing the conversation itself, I was inspired to give a listen to the lad and looked up his music on Youtube. The following is the first song that introduced me to his sound, a cover of The Promise by the eighties band named When in Rome (http://youtu.be/-eWJmN8D820)

Monte Cristo, what do you think of this grandmother hugger?!

His style has been described as a "deep and unconventional relationship between traditionalism and new ways of thinking". Reckon that sounds about right, don't it?

Here is another right enjoyable sample to listen to when you get yer'self a minute, a cover of In Bloom by Nirvana, and the video is fairly spectacular, too.

And right here is one of his own tunes that knocks it outta the fuggin' park as does the fancy video,

If the above ain't loadin' fer ya, then in the meantime, please enjoy the following lyrics by Sturgill for his song Just Let Go:

Woke up today and decided to kill my ego
It aint ever done me no good no how
Gonna break through and blast off to the Bardo
In them flowers of light far away from the here and now

Taking a 49 divine day vacation
From reality and all else in between
Gonna transmigrate to my destination
Far beyond time in an eternal dream

But am I dreaming or am I dying
Either way I don't mind at all
It feels so good you just can't help but crying
You have to let go so the soul can fall

Oh my God it's so beautiful
Everything is a part of me
It's so hard looking through all the lies made of wool
But if you close your eyes it becomes so easy to see
